        • How to accept a DIY Boat Kit shipment
We stand behind our products, and we do all we can to pack everything securely. Unfortunately, once an item leaves our facility, we have no control over the shipping process. If you accept a shipment that has sustained damage, neither you nor we can make a claim for the damage, so it is very important that you examine your shipment BEFORE accepting it.

Here's how to properly receive your Pond King products:

Inspect all boxes/pallets and make sure you have all the pieces to your order.

Check the bill of lading from the delivery company to make sure you have all your boxes/pallets.

Report any missing boxes/pallets to the driver and NOTE ON THE BILL OF LADING. Get it in writing!

Next, inspect all the boxes/pallets for anything that looks like damage. If there is a punctured or smashed box/pallet, open it, and make sure that there is no damage.

In the event of damage, you must report it to the driver and NOTE ON THE BILL OF LADING. If you do not note the damage on the bill of lading, you are confirming that you received the goods in perfect condition, and you release both Pond King and the shipping company of any liability on the shipment.

Pond King is not responsible for any damage caused during shipping by a third party.
        • Pontoon Length: each pontoon is 5 ft. long for an effective pontoon length of 10 ft. once attached to the platform
        • Pontoon Diameter: 14 in.
        • Pontoon Thickness: 0.080"
        • Completed Deck Area: 4 ft. x 8 ft. or 32 sq. ft.
        • Completed Boat Length: 10 ft. 10 in.
        • Weight Capacity: 650 pounds (based on recommended materials and assembly)
        • What does shipping to a commercial address mean? Shipping to a commercial address means shipping to a location with access for 18-wheelers that have the ability to unload over-sized pallets onto a loading dock. This can be a business located close to your home, or we can find a carrier transfer station. Your boat will be delivered and off-loaded to that location. Once there, you can de-palletize your boat and load it into the bed of a truck. Or, if you have a flatbed trailer, the boat can be transferred to your trailer for you to get it the rest of the way home. It is important to note that freight companies do not consider farms or ranches to be commercial addresses, even though you may have both the room for the 18-wheeler and the equipment to offload your boat or dock.
        • Why do the DIY Mini Pontoon Boat have 4 pontoons but all the small pontoon boats only have two? The DIY boat kits come with 4 pontoons because we wanted to be able to ship these boats free. So, instead of one long pontoon on each side of the boat platform, we made two shorter pontoons. Functionally, on the water they provide exactly the same stability and buoyancy as a single pontoon would, it is just that the smaller pontoons make it possible to ship free.
        • What’s the difference between the Mini Pontoon Boats and the Small Pontoon Boats? There are a couple of differences between Pond King’s mini and small pontoon boats. First, their capacity distinguishes the mini pontoon boats from the small. The Pond King mini pontoon boats are intended for smaller bodies of water, specifically ponds or limited access fishing on lakes, whereas the small pontoon boats can handle larger bodies of water. Second, the mini pontoons have all been designed to ship free to their destination … within the lower continental U.S. Third, and this is related to being able to ship, the mini pontoon boats all require some level of assembly - ranging from the DIY boat where you have to build your own deck - or the Rebel Modular pontoon boat
        • Once I place my order, how long will it take to get my Pond King DIY Mini Pontoon Boat Kit? We typically have the pontoons in stock and the kit will ship via UPS ground, so you could have it within 1 - 2 weeks. Our lead times have been impacted by COVID-19. We are currently looking at 3 to 6 weeks for construction on the DIY Boat Kits. Please call for more information.
