Pond King Sport
The Original Pond King Small Pontoon Boat
The Pond King Sport small pontoon boat was our very first design and it's still a favorite today. Like all the boats we build today, the Pond King Sport's all-aluminum design is incredibly easy to maintain so you don't need to spend time tarping or storing your pontoon boat. All deck materials are powder-coated aluminum with stainless steel hardware, so no worries about sun rot or rust. And with a 51-square foot platform, you can stand up and move around the deck as much as you like. Stable, versatile, and easy to maintain, the Pond King Sport is the ideal two-man fishing boat.
The Proof Is In Our Products
Well Worth It!
I've used small boats (i.e. Pelican, etc.) for 20 years, but the Pond King Sport is the luxury 2-man bass boat. I've had my boat for just 4 weeks, but the difference in roominess and maneuverability is unbelievable. Yes, more expensive, but this boat is well worth it. jill and everyone at Pond King will take care of your every need - simply a fantastic boat and experience!
Holy smokes! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review. We really appreciate it and are very happy to hear you love your Sport! Thank you, Pond King
Pond King Sport
The service and quality of boat is fantastic. People at Pond King are great to work with and the Pond King Sport is the perfect boat for a small lake. It is very comfortable, roomy, and stable. Run it with a 55 lb. thrust pontoon mount hand control trolling motor on front of boat. Perfect set up.
Hello Brad - We are so glad you are enjoying your boat. Thank you for the review!
A great experience, start to finish.
I apologize for being so late in letting you know how much we love our Sport. From my first call to you until waving goodbye to Mike after delivery, the process was smooth and most enjoyable. The boat was totally outfitted when it arrived, even down to the charged battery. I really appreciate the onboard charging capability. We told Mike, if he was ever back this way, we would be happy to teach him how to fish! Ha. I want to thank you for your attention to detail when it came to outfitting the boat to be wheelchair accessible. The boat is very stable and easily accessible via a short ramp from our dock to the boat. My sister and I fish every day, the only problem is that she always catches more fish than me! We live on a small private lake and we have received so many comments from neighbors who live on the lake and others who are boating/kayaking/canoeing on the lake. Everyone is intrigued by the boat and offer so many compliments. So, if you have inquiries from Hensley, AR – you can bet I sent them your way. Thanks again for your good help and direction. The Sport is a great investment in our quality of life. I am happy to share my experience with anyway that may ask for reference. I hope all of your team is doing well. I follow you on FB and really enjoy learning what all you guys do! Take care and stay safe in this crazy time.

Once I've placed my order, how long will it take to get my Pond King Small Pontoon Boat?
All of Pond King's pontoon boats are made to order, right here at our facility in Gainesville. Once we receive your order, we'll get started building your boat but production time will depend on when you place your order. (If you are ordering between March and June, call for an estimated delivery time.) COVID-19 UPDATE: Some of our lead times have been impacted by COVID-19. Please call to get an estimated ship date before placing your order.
Do Pond King Small Pontoon Boats require much maintenance?
All the Pond King pontoon boats are designed to be low maintenance with welded aluminum subframes, heavy gauge pontoons, and stainless steel hardware. Unlike a V-hull or Jon-boat, Pond King pontoon boats don’t require constant tarping or need to be bailed out after a storm. Once delivered, your Pond King pontoon boat can pretty much stay in the water.
What are the decking materials?
The decking on the Lil’ Cruiser is made of premium-carpeted, marine grade plywood. The decking on all of our other pontoon boats is made of custom extruded, tongue-in-groove aluminum planks with a skid-resistant powder-coating. The decks of our pontoon boats stay cool and aren’t slippery when wet, plus they'll last a lifetime.
Why do all the Pond King Small Pontoon Boats only have two pontoons?
At Pond King, we manufacture our boats, start to finish, right here at our facility in Gainesville, Texas, and that includes the pontoons. We roll our pontoons to our own specifications from 0.080” marine-grade 5052 aluminum. By adjusting the diameter to length ratio, we can create the appropriate buoyancy for each of our boats - so they only need two pontoons. If you check out our mini pontoon boats, you'll see that some of our boats actually have 4 pontoons - but they are configured to act the same way our 2 pontoon system works.
Is there a reason for the cone shape on the front of the pontoon?
You bet. The cone shape on the front of the pontoon improves the boats steer-ability. We’ve specifically designed the pitch of our cones to keep the nose up – when you are speeding up or slowing down – and to facilitate maneuverability in the water, so the front end slices through the water.
Are Pond King Small Pontoon Boat frames welded or bolted together?
Pond King's small pontoon boats are known for their stability, especially as it relates to their size. Welding our frames together, versus bolting, provides a very high level of torsional stability at the joints which contributes to the overall stability of the craft.
How are the frames attached to the pontoons on the Pond King Small Pontoon Boats?
Unlike bolts, welds don’t work loose over time. That’s why at Pond King we weld the deck frames to brackets, which are then welded to the pontoons, contributing to the boat’s stability and longevity.
How can I pay for my boat?
We prefer you pay with a good-old-fashioned check, but we also accept credit cards and financing is available for Texas residents. Because all of our boats are built to order, we require a $1,000 deposit before we start construction. The balance is due either prior to shipping or at the time of delivery. If you are picking your boat up, or we are delivering it, we'll require the balance when you take possession of the boat. If you need to cancel your order prior to delivery, we'll refund your deposit minus a 5% administration fee.
Is a trailer included with my Pond King Small Pontoon Boat?
Most of our customers have us put their boat on the water, and that's where it stays, so trailers don't come standard, although we do have ShoreLand’r Trailers available for all models, except the Rebel. The Rebel Mini Pontoon was actually designed to be transported in the bed of a standard sized pickup truck so you won't need a trailer. For all the other boats, if you’re planning on hauling, you’ll need a trailer.
What outboard shaft length do the small pontoon boats require?
A short shaft outboard will work on the Sport model, but if you're getting the Pro model or larger, you'll need a long shaft outboard.
Where can I find a detailed schematic of the different seating arrangements?
We've just recently been getting questions about the distance between the seats on many of our boats. We're working on getting these schematics drawn for each of our boats and as we get them done, we'll add them here.
What is the “Turn Around Guarantee?”
If you’re not satisfied with your pontoon boat at delivery, we’ll “turn around,” bring the boat back to Gainesville, and refund the entire amount you've paid - minus the delivery fee.
