The Standard Steel T-Dock has an approximate weight capacity of 800 pounds and can easily accommodate 2-3 people who are actively fishing. All of our steel frame docks are built using Galvanized 12-gauge steel with 14-gauge C-Purlin bracing on 16 in. centers. The Pond King frames and welds carry a 10-year warranty; the TimberTech Decking won’t crack, split, splinter, or rot, and carries a 25-year limited warranty, and the InsulBead Floats carry a 15-year warranty. These babies are built to last!
The Proof Is In Our Products
The T-dock is designed to handle Texas extremes
With hinges at the walkway base and between the walkway and deck, the steel-framed T-dock can handle some pretty extreme water elevation changes - up to 10 feet, in fact. If your pond or lake fluctuates that much, you'll want to consider the 20 foot walkway for a gentler slope when the water is low.
Durable, Low-maintenance, and Highly-customizable
Made from 12- and 14- gauge steel, extremely-dense composite decking and hot-dipped, galvanized fasteners, our decks are virtually maintenance free. And, you can keep your dock simple, or deck-it-out all the way because with our Standard Steel Docks, you've got lots of options. Add railing to one side, or all the way around. Gates are a great idea if you've got young-ones you're worried about. And there are plenty of seating and fishing options, too. Just give us a call to get a custom quote.

Yes, you can add a 36” high railing made of 3 galvanized-pipe rungs just about anywhere you want on your steel framed dock and walkway. Gates can be added, too.
Once I place an order for a Steel Framed Floating Dock, how long will it take to be delivered and installed?
Our docks are all made to order and our lead time is typically 3-5 weeks depending on the season. The docks are built completely at our shop and then loaded onto a trailer and delivered and installed at your lake. COVID-19 UPDATE: Our lead times have been impacted by COVID-19. Please call to get an estimated ship date before placing your order.
Do you recommend a certain walkway length?
For the steel docks, we recommend a 32’ walkway. However, we know every situation is different, so you can get different lengths. The grade of your bank will help us determine what the best length of walkway would be for your lake or pond. Because every situation is different, it’s best if you can send us a photo of where you’d like the dock installed. Walkways over 32’ in length make it necessary to add outriggers and pole guides. One thing we can tell you is we've never had a customers say they wish they had gotten a shorter walkway, but we often get called to add more walkway.
How is the dock anchored?
All of the Standard Steel Framed Floating Docks are anchored with an 8’ wide steel base set into four 3’ deep piers of fast-setting concrete. There are no cables or pipes needed on standard setups.
What is the decking made of?
For our floating docks, we use a composite decking material called TimberTech. We’ve chosen TimberTech because it is one of the densest decking products on the market, as you can see from the chart below.

What is your service area?
We typically deliver and install our Steel Framed Docks within 500 miles of our location in Gainesville, TX – including into Oklahoma and Louisiana. If you need a dock and live outside our steel dock delivery service area, check out our aluminum floating docks which can be shipped nationwide.
How are the docks delivered?
Our docks are built up, in full, in our shop and then loaded onto a trailer pulled by a 4 x 4 pickup. The trailer is backed into the water and the dock is floated off (similar to unloading a boat). Docks 10’ x12’ and larger require an oversized hauling permit and you’ll need to get a special quote for this.
